About Us

Our vision: Love God Love Others

WE BELIEVE . . .

The Bible is inspired by the Lord God and is accurate, has authority and applies to our daily lives.

There is one God and Creator of all things. He exists in three persons – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

God is loving, just and holy.

Jesus was born of a virgin, Mary.

Sin has separated us from God and His plan for our lives.

Jesus as God and man is the only way back to the Father.

Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead on the 3rd day to take away the penalty for sin.

We must ask God for forgiveness of our sins through Jesus and walk in God’s ways.

In and teach the commandment of Christ to repent and be baptized and the importance of being baptized in the spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues.

If we allow the Lord to equip us, we can achieve His purpose by finding our place in the local church and reaching out to others in the community.

In church services, we should have freedom in worship and see the gifts of the Holy Spirit working.

God loves us and that He has a great plan for our lives and that we in return should love Him because He first loved us.

If we obey the Lord Jesus Christ, we will live eternally in Heaven.

The Lord Jesus Christ is coming to earth again just as He promised.

HISTORY

The church began in 1975 when Keith and Deenie Rensford were called to Shepparton from Waverley Christian Fellowship in Melbourne (now CityLife Church). They began meetings in Knight Street, Shepparton with their own family and a few prior contacts from Euroa.

As the church grew, public meetings began at various rented premises over a 25-year period, much of which was spent at Gowrie Street Primary School and Shepparton High School. The present building was first occupied in 1999.

The church has a history of involvement in the local church community, initiating and hosting various inter-church activities, youth events, regular combined church nights, weekly pastor prayer times as well as much participation in the wider community.

The vision has always been outreach, both locally and into the nation of Kenya in financially supporting disadvantaged students, local pastors and widows as well as annual leaders’ conferences and free medical clinics. GVCF has also raised up and sent out other church ministries, founding the Euroa Christian Fellowship in 2002.

Presently the church is affiliated with Ministers Fellowship International. See www.mfi-online.org for more details.
